June 19 — It seems that many people across the world don’t know where is Slovenia. Yes, it is true as it is evident from the hot search on Google. After the 2-2 draw of Slovenia against USA in the recent World Cup Group C match, people started searching Slovenia Map, Slovenia Location, Where Is Slovenia etc.

The draw gave a little fame to the country in the world and made people search for it who had no idea where Slovania is on the World Map.

On the world ranking table of FIFA Slovenia is on the 25th position and USA on 14th.

In the first half of the match Slovenia was at a lead with 2-0 and this was more exciting that caused a flurry on the internet to search a map of Slovenia.

Slovenia is the third-smallest country with a population of 2 million. Matjaz Kak, coach of Slovenia, realizes that qualifying for the second round will emerge of putting the nation “in the global map of football.”

Slovenia was split from Yugoslavia in 1991 and played its first international match in 1992. In 2002 Slovenia qualified first time for the World Cup and lost all the three games.

Kak said, “Last year we were making preparations to play San Marino (in qualifying). Friday we are thinking about reaching the knockout stage in our second match, so a great step has been taken forward. Our squad has achieved a great evolution. Slovenia as a nation was applauding us at our first match and I believe it will do the same tomorrow.”

In the opening match Slovenia defeated Algeria by 1-0.

Kak added further, “This is not the most important match, but it is a great match and this match can solidify Slovenia in the global map of football. We haven’t just come here to be tourists. We are active participants in this World Cup and I think this is a privilege that we have been given”
