Taliban leader Obaidullah arrested in Pakistan
Feb 25th, 2008 | Category:World NewsMullah Obaidullah Akhund a top Taliban leader who was very closed to Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden has been arrested by Pakistani security agencies on Monday. Obaidullah was recently arrested along with two Afghan nationals by intelligence agencies in Lahore.
Obaidullah, a former defence minister in the Taliban’s Majlis-e-Shura had come to Lahore to collect funds. He was earlier arrested in Quetta in 2006. He was released after nine months & fled to Afghanistan. Obaidullah was arrested following a tip-off & taken to an unknown location.
