22nd August, 2013, Beirut: On Thursday, the Syrian opposition demanded that the United Nations must probe the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government forces that killed hundreds of people a day earlier.
In Paris, Laurent Fabius, the French foreign minister, told that the international communities need to react with force if the chemical attack allegations are true.
Syrian government forces continued a bombardment of rebel held regions around the capital. Activists say that this situation would further obstruct United Nations investigators from going into the region.
Wednesday’s death number estimated between 500 to 1300, which some say that as one of the most lethal chemical attack in history. However, the Syrian authorities denied the use of chemical weapons. Opposition forces said that men, women and children were killed when they were sleeping. They added that rockets loaded with poison gas hit many towns in Ghouta early on Wednesday.
