Suicide Bomber killed 35 in Peshawar, Pakistan
Feb 29th, 2008 | Category:World NewsA suicide bomber blew himself up on Friday at a funeral in Pakistan’s volatile Swat Valley in which 35 people killed & 62 injured. President Pervez Musharraf sent thousands of troops in November to reassert the government’s control & take on the extremists.
An official said who was at the funeral on security duty, “Because it was dark, the suicide bomber was able to mingle among the people easily”. He uses only one name. The official said that near about 800 people were at the funeral, including civilians & police officials.
The official said, “As the coffin was lifted I moved toward the gate but suddenly a big explosion took place, which dashed me against the gate. It was hell. Everybody was crying for help”. He was also slightly injured.
