Strong Earthquake in Indonesia
An earthquake of 6.6 magnitude hits Sumatra island of Indonesia on Monday. The earthquake struck off at 9:46 pm local time, occurred at sea about 155 kilometres southwest of Padang in Sumatra.
The epicentre of thi strong earthquake was 151 kilometres northwest of the town of Mukomuko.
A tsunami warning was not issued for the quake, which struck at a depth of 35 kilometres. There are no report of damaged & deaths in this earthquake. An earthquake of 6.6 magnitude is capable of causing destruction to buildings within about 30 miles of its epicenter.
