Now it’s Sri Lankan student allegedly attacked in Australia

The racist insult is not only limited to Indians in Australia. Now, Sri Lankan student is also allegedly attacked in Australia. In Canberra, the capital of Australia, three men smashed the windows of home of a group of Sri Lankan students and taunted them with “racist insults.” The incident took place in the Macquarie region of north Canberra after an unsuccessful attempt to crash a party.

The Sri Lankan students also said that a car window has also been broken. Dijula Wijesuriya, one of the Sri Lankan student said he has been threatened with a knife. He said that the guy came to him and took out a knife saying ‘get out of our streets’.”

Wijesuriya told to the media that they have been living in fear after the recent violence against Indian students in Sydney and Melbourne.

He said, “We really didn’t go anywhere else, we just stayed at home, just go to uni and come back home straight away and lock the doors and stay inside.”

Madhu Kalia, the president of India Australia Association of Canberra said that she is surprised by the incidents.
