The general Mahn Sha Karen secretary of National Union was shot dead on Thursday. Two gunmen attacked on Mahn Sha Karen at his home in Mae Sot, a town on the Myanmar-Thailand border. The rebel group has received numerous warnings that Myanmar’s military leaders were planning to target & kill KNU leaders.
Pasawat Tangjui Colonel of Thai police said the killing may have been the result of internal differences in the rebel group. No one has claimed responsibility for the murder.
