Lebanese Army: Israeli gunfire kills 1, wounds 1 in Lebanon
Feb 4th, 2008 | Category:World NewsA spokesman for the Lebanese army told reporters that Israeli border gunfire killed one Lebanese civilian & critically wounded another Sunday in a village that straddles the country’s southern border with Israel. The director of information for the Lebanese army said that the civilians were in the village of Ghajar part of which is in Lebanon and part of which is in Israel shortly after 1 p.m. (ET), when the incident occurred. An Israel Defense Forces spokesman told reporters that possible drug smugglers opened fire at IDF soldiers in the village, and that the IDF returned the fire, hitting them.
