Jessica Baty the girlfriend of the gunman who killed five people & then shot himself at Northern
Illinois University on Thursday said that there was “no indication he was planning something like this”.
The 28 years old Jessica Baty said, “He wasn’t erratic. He wasn’t delusional. He was Steve & normal”. Jessica Baty said she dated Steven Kazmierczak off & on for two years & had most recently been living with him.
Baty said, “He was a worrier. He was worried about everything, he was worried about me also”.
She also said that he had never exhibited self-destructive behavior during their time together. “Everybody has a past, & everybody goes through hard times”.
“Kazmierczak wasn’t acting erratic. He was just a little quicker to get annoyed”, Baty said.
