Janez Drnovsek died on Saturday
Feb 23rd, 2008 | Category:World NewsJanez Drnovsek the Former President of Slovenian who was a popular politician & also helped to lead his country to independence in 1991, has died on Saturday following cancer for years. Janez Drnovsek was 57 years old.
Drnovsek was the ex-Yugoslav country’s premier between 1992-2002, when he was elected as a president. Drnovsek did not run for a second term & was replaced by Danilo Turk in December. He had a cancerous kidney removed in 1999 & acknowledged later that the disease had spread to his lungs.
