Super-speed Internet satellite
A rocket has been launched by Japan on Saturday. The rocket which carrying a satellite named as WINDS that will provide a new technology & promises to deliver “super high speed Internet” service to homes & businesses in all over the world.
The rocket carrying the satellit was launched at 5:55 p.m local time by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency & Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan at the Tanegashima Space Center at the Japan’s Yoshinobu Launch Complex.
If the satellite will successful then the subscribers with small dishes will connect to the internet at speeds many times faster than what is now available over residential cable. If this techonology will successful then the satellite would offer speeds of up to 1.2 gigabytes per second.
Among other uses, this will make possible great advances in telemedicine, which will bring high-quality medical treatment to remote areas & will connect students & teachers separated by the great distances.
