Earthquake struck Reno, United States
Apr 25th, 2008 | Category:World NewsAn Earthquake of magnitude 4.7 struck west edge of Reno at 12:10 pm on Friday (IST). There were no immediate reports of any casualities. It was the largest quake in a two-month-long swarm of tremors.
The Earthquake was strongly felt in west Reno & felt throughout the Reno metropolitan area. The epicentre of this earthquake was about 10 kilometres west of Reno near Mogul, an area rattled by a swarm of more than 100 quakes the day before.
A seismologist at the Nevada university lab, said that the recent activity around Reno is unusual because the quakes started out small & continue to build in strength. The normal pattern is for a main quake followed by smaller aftershocks.
