A view of damaged after earthquake
An earthquake of magnitude 8.2 hits Indonesia’s Sumatra island at 10:44 am loacal time on Wednesday, in which 70 people killed, thousands of people injured. The epicenter of this 8.2 magnitude earthquake was about 315 km from southeast of Banda Aceh, on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Several buildings in Padang, the capital of West Sumatra, have collapsed, & some buildings have caught fire also. The US Geological said, “The quake has no tsunami potential because it’s happening under the ground, not the sea”. Meteorological agency of Japan said that India’s Andaman & Nicobar island chain is also at risk.
