by Tuhin

9th June, 2012, Peshawar: On Friday, at least twenty people including 2 children and 6 women were killed with more than forty people injured after a bomb blew up on a bus that was carrying government employees in Peshawar. The bus was carrying low ranked government employees as well as twenty-four other passengers from Peshawar to Charsadda town.bomb picture

The bomb was planted inside the bus and when the bus reached Gul Bela area, the bomb exploded that almost destroyed the colorfully decorated bus.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain, the provincial information minister, told that as the rear end of the bus was affected the most, it appears that the bomb was probably planted there and blew up remotely.

The dead as well as injured passengers were to nearby hospitals in Charsadda and Peshawar. Till now, no groups have claimed the responsibility for this attack. In the last few years, this region has seen more terror attacks compared to other parts of the country. In recent few months, the violence has gone down because of Pakistani military operations in this area against local Taliban.
