The officials said that it was not clear whether the virus found at Esetce, close to Turkey’s border with Greece, was the deadly H5N1 strain.
A senior official said the area was under quarantine, according to the state-run Anatolia news agency.
In January, authorities confirmed an H5N1 outbreak in a village near the Black Sea coastal city of Zonguldak.
During an H5N1 outbreak in Turkey in January 2006, 12 people were infected & four of them died.
