16th April, 2012, Kabul: The security forces of Afghanistan have killed the Taliban assaulters, who unleashed a series of organized suicide attacks aiming NATO bases, diplomatic area as well as the Parliament in the Afghan capital.
A spokesperson from the Afghan Interior Ministry told that the battle is over in the Afghan capital. All the places were cleared and all assaulters were killed. The spokesperson did not cater the details but he said that over twenty militants were killed. Afghan civilians and police personnel were also killed in the Taliban attack.
The battle finished at around 7:20 (local time) and now all the roads are open. Yesterday, Kabul and other three Afghan cities were experienced a series of suicide attacks with NATO bases and embassies falling under fire. Afghan security forces took on the lead in forestalling the assault.
The assaulters attacked the Kabul Star Hotel that is situated in the Wazir Akhbar Khan region of the capital and few even attempted to storm the Parliament of Afghanistan by firing rockets but they were stopped by security forces.
The Taliban assulters also came upon cities in 3 provinces – Paktia, Logar and Jalalabad.
