6th August, 2012, Oak Creek (Wisconsin): On Sunday, a gunman killed 6 people at a gurdwara in Wisconsin in Milwaukee, United States. Later, police shot the gunman dead in an attack.
According to reports, the gunman entered that kitchen of the gurdwara and began firing when women were preparing a Sunday meal. Four were shot dead inside the gurdwara and 2 were killed outside.
Police authorities did not reveal the identity of the gunman, but told that he was a bald, white man and the age is around 40 years. The police chief of Oak Creek, told that the armed man ambushed and aimed at a police officer who was trying to help a shooting victim. A second police officer shot the gunman.
Three people, including police personnel were critically injured. The police officer is expected to survive, but the condition of the other two is still critical.
On Sunday evening, law enforcement personnel hemmed in and searched a 2 – storey grey colored house in Cudahy neighborhood which is presumed to be the gunman’s residence. A search warrant has already been issued for that house.
In a statement, FBI Milwaukee stated that they are closely working with Oak Creek Police and other federal and local agencies to investigate the incident. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is probing whether it an act of domestic terrorism or not.
