In Illinois, the fire consumed in a home & prevented parents Velma Dorris, the children’s mother & her husband, Bernard from rescuing her & two younger siblings, then a 12 years old girl named as Derrionna Adams saved the other children on Saturday local time by kicking out a second-story window & helping them down.

An official of firefighter said, “She kicked the window out & stepped up onto the roof of the first floor & was able to pull her two siblings out. This was a blessed day. It is a tremendously courageous & wise way of dealing with the situation”.

Velma Dorris & Bernard were sleeping downstairs with three children when the fire started. Smoke & flames kept them from reaching the children upstairs. Then Derrionna managed to guide her two siblings, Dedeonta Neal 9 years old and & 8 years old, onto the roof.

Once outside, the 9 years old boy, noticed his younger sisters were missing, not knowing they were safe with his mother. The boy went back inside the burning building to find them, suffering burns on his arms before exiting. He & the others jumped 15 feet from the roof. The boy broke his ankle in the fall, but the other five children were uninjured. The official also said, “We also look at the courage of the young man, the 9 years old, of wanting to go back in.”
