The heavy rains lashed Patiala on Saturday. The local meteorological office has recorded a total of 92 mm rain in Patiala on Saturday morning. Heavy rains lashed Patiala yesterday also. The normal life was badly disrupted in Patiala due to heavy rain on Friday. There is a report of one death in Tripuri town of Patiala. The deceased named “Pardesi” 35 years old resident of Gorakhpur (UP) was killed when he was trying to clear rainy water from the basement of his shop in Tripuri area yesterday.

Eyewitnesses said that the Pardesi with his two associates went to clear basement of his shop, which was filled with rain water. He lost his balance in deep water & lost conscious too. He was brought out from the basement immediately by his associates & he died on the way to the hospital.
