27th July, 2012, Seoul: South Korean electronics giant Samsung reported yet another record quarterly profit thanks to their Galaxy smartphones that helped to outperform its rival companies even in tough time. Samsung, World’s largest mobile handset maker benefited from this Android powered phone as other rivals are yet to unveil new models.
On Friday, The company told that the net profit puffed up to $ 4.5 billion in April – June quarter. The shares of the company rose to 4.8% in the South Korean capital as investors anticipate its earnings to go forward. Though the sales of Samsung’s smartphones really helped the company to earn a good profit, yet Samsung has not done well in other sectors like personal computers and televisions.
In a statement, Samsung told that the 3rd quarter is expected to be marginally positive as demand for consumer electronics goods, including smartphones and tablets, remains strong and a stream of new products hit the market. Supply for display panels is also expected to increase, as television makers prepare for the year-end holiday season.
In spite of nagging concerns about debt stricken Europe, analysts are expecting that the South Korean company will attain a record profit in the third quarter also when the sales of Samsung Galaxy S lll is expected to reach the top before Apple reveals its new iPhone.
