7th June, 2012, San Francisco: On Wednesday, Dick Costolo, the CEO of Twitter told that the company has brought forth more advertising revenue from their mobile platform compared to its site on several days in last quarter. He also talked about the huge numbers of tablet and smartphone users which is increasing throughout the world day by day.
In San Francisco, while addressing at a conference arranged by The Economist, Costolo made this points when Facebook is confronting intense pressure on mobile platform. Since May, Facebook’s stock has been clobbered by its troubled IPO. On the other hand, Twitter is seen as the most prominent IPO prospect after Facebook.
Costolo added that they have an ad platform which is inherently suited to mobile devices, even though the company has launched their platform on the web and began running ads on mobile recently.
At present, the company has 140 million active users each month with 400 million daily average tweets. The company has strengthened their revenue-generating process since Dick Costolo took the top job in 2010.
