2nd August, 2012, New Delhi: Micromax entered the world of budget tablets earlier this year with its Funbook priced at just Rs. 6499. The tab had a 7 inch screen, 1.2 Ghz processor and the brand new Android 4.0 operating system. The device, which was aimed at the urban youth, was sold 125000 units since April.
Following the success of Funbook, the company has launched Fonbook Pro priced at Rs. 9999. The brand new device, which runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwitch, has a 10.1 inch touchscreen along with 600 x 1024 pixel resolution. It also includes 1GB RAM, 1.2Ghz single core processor and 8GB internal storage that can be expanded. It features a front VGA shooter for video calling, USB ports and HDMI output.
Like the cheaper version of Funbook, Pro features several preloaded applications like Flash, Adobe PDF, Text Editor and YouTube. According to reports, the new tab is now available for online purchase. The buyer will also get a 1 year warranty from the company.
The CEO of Micromax thinks that the new generation wants to experience new things which make their life much easier. The company is inspired after the success of their 7 inch tab.
