10th April, 2012, New Delhi: On Friday, Taiwanese mobile handset maker HTC stated that the company’s net profit in the first quarter went down to a huge seventy percent compared to last year. HTC is struggling against other companies like Apple or Samsung continues.
For the first 3 months of this year, profits stayed at NT $ 4.5 billion and revenues dipped 35% cent year-on-year to NT $ 68 bn.
Critics have said that HTC’s low sell is because of its inability to make a prominent name in the mobile market and distinguish itself from a number of Android handset makers who are dominating the market.
They also have a disadvantage over the confusion of consumers regarding its several products. Brand identity hugely matters in this business. Now, HTC is looking ahead to invigorate their smart-phone market with the launch of its new One series. The company announced this range in at the Mobile World Congress. This may be the new line of phones that can change HTC’s fortune.
At present Apple and Samsung are dominating the smart-phone market and handsets by these two companies poses biggest threat for HTC new handset line.
