Amazon is all set to challenge Apple’s ipad by launching its own awaited tablet. It is expected that on Wednesday, Amazon will unveil its tablet at a low price which will challenge iPad’s dominance in the tablet market. Amazon’s 7 inch tablet will allow users to read e-books, download music, games and stream movies and videos. According to analysts, Amazon is likely to price its tablet at around $ 250. Pricing is going to be an important factor as Apple’s iPad is approximately $ 500.

Though much specifications about the tablet is not known, it is believed that the tablet will run on Google’s Android operating system. Another advantage enjoyed by Amazon is that since millions of people visit the website for purchase, the reach of the tablet will be to several users. iPad has found a lot of favor among users because of its elegant design, looks and access to several thousand apps. Several other tablets such as RIM’s PlayBook, Motorola Xoom, HP TouchPad have been trying to compete with iPad but without much of success.
