Facebook phone app to be available in Indian languages

4th April, 2012, New Delhi: The Facebook mobile phone application, which is accessible in over 2500 handsets in India, will now support Hindi language and more than that in coming few weeks this app will also support Indian languages like Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi and Gujarati.facebook 2

At present, Facebook has over 800 million monthly users and more than 350 million mobile users throughout the world.  The phone application was released in July, 2011 and it works on over 3600 Java-enabled handsets across the world. India now has more than 50 million Facebook users and this new addition to this popular app will bring in the same complete Facebook mobile experience.

This app is present in most Nokia handsets. It can also be downloaded from m.facebook.com from mobile browser or one can find it in popular app stores like Nokia Store, Mobile Weaver, GetJar and Appia. Users can access the hardcore features including uploading or viewing pictures, setting their status as well as getting friends by using this application.

A Facebook official stated that with more than fifty million users of Facebook in this country, they just want to make sure that everyone experiences this great application no matter what device that they choose to use. The launch of Facebook for Every Phone mobile app in Hindi as well as other India languages enables more people to share and connect with the people they care about, anytime, anywhere.
