With the festive season round the corner, car makers are luring customers with attractive prices and discounts. It is to be noted that high interest rate and cost of fuel has taken a toll on the sales of cars and several auto makers have been forced to cut down production. But now, auto majors are trying to attract customers with a slew of new models which are being offered at cost effective price point. Recently, Maruti has come up with a new version of Swift for just Rs 4.22 lakh which is just Rs 13,000 more than its previous version.

Honda too has slashed price of its top hatchback Jazz by Rs 1.62 lakh. Toyota has launched its premium hatchback Liva for just Rs 3.99 lakh, thereby making it one of the cheapest in the market.

Last month Honda Siel cut down price of its sedan City by Rs 66,000 and now it is offering Jazz at just Rs 5.5 lakh. Notably Jazz was considered to be steep priced at Rs 7 lakh which forced customers to look for other options such as Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20. Experts believe that cutting down prices will lead to intense competition among auto makers which will force them to give discounts.
