Despite dipping sales of car, automakers are not shying away from new launches. Luxury car maker BMW is all set to launch British marquee Mini in the Indian market. The car will be priced at Rs 25 lakh and the company will start importing the small car in the next couple of months. It will also open a couple of flagship dealership in Mumbai and Delhi. The entire range of Mini will be imported by the company which will include popular variants such as Cabrio, Countryman, Cooper etc.
BMW officials said that Mini is coming to India after carrying out several surveys and that they will showcase the car during Auto Expo in January 2012. It is to be noted that luxury small cars like Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Beetle have not found many takers. However, considering the dynamics of the Indian car market, the scenario could change. The road for Mini will not be easy as it will face stiff competition from hatchbacks like Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz S Class.
