Auto Makers Launching New Models In Upcoming Festive Season

Auto makers are betting big on the upcoming festive season to spur sales as 7 new models are slated to hit the roads in October and Images Of AutomobilesNovember. Among the 7, 5 are cars while 1 is motorcycle and a scooter respectively. Durga Puja and Diwali are considered auspicious to make new purchases and auto makers are banking high during this time. It is to be noted that the last couple of months have not been productive for auto manufacturers as sales have dropped down drastically because of high prices of fuel and high interest rate. While car sales have dipped by 16% in July, in August sales slumped by 11%.

Among the new models, Honda Brio and Hyundai Eon will make their debut. Brio will be launched on September 27 priced between Rs 4-5 lakh. Brio will be Honda’s first offering in the compact car segment and will compete with Hyundai i10 and Maruti Swift and Ritz. Brio will also be facing competition from Hyundai’s Eon, which is expected to go on sales in late October. The car is expected to be priced between Rs 3.5 to Rs 4.5 lakh.

Mahindra and Mahindra will be taking wraps off his new SUV, XUV 500 today and the firm plans to sell the SUV in South Africa, Australia, Western Europe and South America. Skoda Auto will be coming out with a sedan Rapid priced between Rs 7-10 lakh. Tata Motors will be coming out with a new Sumo in October. Hero Motor Corp will be coming out with India’s first gearless scooter model Maestro in October.
