20th July, 2012, Shanghai: On Friday, American tech giant Apple unveiled their brand new iPad in China. Apple unveiled their iPad weeks after the company paid 60 million dollars to Shenzhen Proview Technology Ltd., a Shenzhen-based company, to decide a lawsuit regarding the ownership of their name In 2009, Apple stated that they got the global right to the name – ‘iPad’ from Proview.
This time Apple decided to opt for an online booking system to control the flow of buyers in its stores so that they can avoid the chaos that took place during the launch if Apple iPhone 4S in January when one of their shops in Beijing got pelted with eggs.
Shops in Shanghai and Beijing opened at 8 in the morning with tight security. After United States, China is the 2nd largest market of this California-based company.
