18th Jan, 2012, Kolkata: The bitter confrontation between TMC and Congress are still going forward. After the show down regarding renaming Indira Bhawan, now its Congress’ Manoj Chakrabarty who accused the chief minister of acting in a dictatorial manner.
Chakrabarty’s thunderous verbal attack came a day after Mamata Bajerjee bounced a surprise with a Cabinet expansion which removed of two ministers who were from Congress.
This is a measured act by the chief minister with her like-it-or-lump-it move for Congress. Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury with two state ministers Manoj Chakrabarty and Abu Hena criticized the chief minister during the spat over renaming Indira Bhawan.
Chakrabarty turned furious and accused Mamata Banerjee of aiming his since he managed to win from Murshidabad. Chakrabarty also accused Manas Bhunia, the former PCC chief, of playing a double role.
This new trouble raised a moderate reaction from Congress. Some in Congress think that the chief minister should have inform her ally before reshuffling Congress portfolios.
