Lucknow, Feb. 18 – One sub-inspector and two constables are dismissed from services in connection with the custodial death of two persons today. The government of Uttar Pradesh ordered to terminate them from service. The dies were under detention after a clash in Allahabad.
“Three policemen, including incharge of Ghurpur police station Vinod Kumar Dubey, were dismissed from services after preliminary inquiry indicated that they were responsible for the custodial death of Sanjay Nishad and Ashok Kumar Nishad,” Principal Secretary (Home) Fateh Bahadur informed.
Sanjay, Ashok, Mukesh Nishad and Devanand were taken under custody after violence in Ghurpur area of Allahabad district Feb 14.
On Feb 15, Sanjay and Ashok died under custody and one police constable Kamlesh Pandey was wounded in the gunfight.
The FIR of custodial death was registered against nine policemen and they were sent to home under suspension.
