Maoists blew up school building in Jharkhand

GIRIDH, India: In the Giridh district of Jharkhand the Maoists blew up a school building. The police said that a school was blown at Manjiladih on Tuesday.

Last night a group of Maoists triggered the blast which had damaged the Manjiladih Primary School says the district Superintendent of Police Ravi Kant Dhan.

Ravi Kant added that a police team was rushed to the spot immediately.

Recently the Maoists have been attacking the schools in order to prevent the security forces from using these schools as shelters during the anti-Naxal operations.

Reports say that the Maoists have also put posters in the entire district calling to boycott the poll.

Jharkhand will be going for a five-phase election from Wednesday and the assembly segments in the Giridih district is scheduled on December 2 and 8.
