In an audacious attack carried out by Maoists in Lohardaga district of Jharkhand, 8 security men were killed which also included 6 CPPF personnels. Maoists open fired and exploded landmines which killed security personnels. Officials said that the mine explosions took place at around 10:30 am when the security men were marching inside a forest area near Dhardharia in order to raid. The directive for the raid was given by A V Minz, SP of Lohardaga.

According to sources,  Minz had received inputs about Maoists camp in the area but he didnot verify the inputs and ordered the securitymen to carry out the raids. This proved to be fatal for the security personnels. The killed personnels included 2 policemen who were from the Lohardga district unit. In the attack 15 security men have been injured who are now being treated at hospitals in Lohardaga and Ranchi.
