June 15 starts Amarnath yatra, registered 1.55 lakhs

The annual Amarnath yatra is going to starts from 15th of June. More than 1 lakh 55 thousand people have till now registered themselves for the pilgrimage.

Sources say, “Over 1.55 lakh devotees have been registered for Amarnath pilgrimage at 110 registration counters across the country and online till today. The highest number of 52,700, have been registered from Delhi zone.”

Out of the total registered, 71,700 of them have been registered for pilgrimage via Baltal route and 82,300 of them will be trekking via Pahalgam route.

Sources also say that 31,400 pilgrims have been registered in Mumbai zone, 31,600 in Chandigarh-Mohile zone, 1,700 in Kashmir and 4,000 in Jammu zones.

The yatra was postponed from June 7 to June 15 because of heavy accumulation of snow on the routes leading to Amarnath.

It is a 2-months long pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high shrine. It will be concluded by 5th of August.

More than 4.5 lakh pilgrims had participated in the yatra last year.
