Vijay Mallya’s Force India creates history

by Sunil Sonkar

Giancarlo Fisichella, the Force India driver, finishes second at the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Force India is owned by Vijay Mallya.

Fisichella, 36-year-old Italian driver, has been rumored to have one foot in Ferrari. He shunned extravagance to run a flawless race and trailed Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari that had snatched the lead using the Kinetic Energy Recovery System. He earned 8 valuable points.

For only less than a second, Fisichella remained behind Raikkonen. Teammate Adrian Sutil had a rather rollercoaster outing with the German eventually finishing eleventh.

This was the same track when Fisichella had finished second in a Jordan car in the year 1997.
