Nelson Mandela Bay, June 23 — Slovenia is surprisingly on the top in Group C, but England is facing a confidence crisis and manpower.

England is having only 2 points from their two matches and need to perform well in today’s match against Slovenia. If England wins today’s match, the team will qualify for the Round of 16. If it is a draw, then draw between Algeria and USA, in another match today, will help England.

On the other hand the proverbial dark horse Slovenia are the only team with a win in Group C. Even a draw for them in today’s match will lead them to Round of 16. More interesting, even if Slovenia fails to win against England in today’s match, the draw of Algeria and USA will take them to Round of 16.

Captain Robert Koren, the midfield controller of Slovenia and from West Bromwich Albion, said: “The first game, England versus the USA, England played okay, we saw some good things and bad things, and it was the same in the second game against Algeria. England didn’t show the football we expected, but we all need to know that England will be ready.”
