4th June, 2012, London: On Sunday, Gary Cahill, the England central defender was left out of the 2012 Euro team after a scan revealed that had suffered a broken jaw in the warm-up game against Belgium. But in the midst of all these injuries, the only good news is that John Terry has been given an all clear on his hamstring injury.
The FA told that Gary Cahill had been drawn back from the team which begins this Friday. In a statement, they told that the Chelsea defender had two fractures in his jaw. The medical team of the national team has been in close contact with the Chelsea doctors.
Gary suffered an injury when it was only seventeen minutes into the game at Wembley, London. Just before this bed news came, Trevor Brooking, the director of football development told BBC radio that they were expecting an unchanged 23 member squad.
Dries Mertens, the Belgian footballer, who were involved in this incident, apologized on his twitter page. He wrote that, “I sincerely apologize for the harm I’ve cost to Cahill. When in the heat of the moment, you often don’t think about the consequences…”
England is already without Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard and John Ruddy. On 11th June, England will play against France in a Group D encounter on Donetsk, Ukraine.
