27th July, 2013, New Delhi: It has been seven months that India’s national football team is without a sponsor. The two year deal with Panasonic ended on 31st December, 2012. Panasonic had a deal of $ 1 million per year.
All India Football Federation’s marketing partner is still could not find a sponsor. Now, the All India Football Federation that does not have its own marketing department has engaged itself in search for a new sponsor for the national team.
In March, India played AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers without a sponsor. In September, India will play SAFF Cup in Kathmandu in Nepal. According to reports, the All India Football Federation has already approached public sector entities to try seal a new contract.
The old sponsorship was signed before the All India Football Federation made IMG-Reliance its marketing partner. IMG-Reliance has a fifteen year partnership with the All India Football Federation.
