Rajpal Singh out from Olympic qualifiers

The surces said that the Olympic hockey team’s top forward player Rajpal Singh has decided to not to play in the tournament to be held at Santiago (Chile) from March 1. The Rajpal Singh said, “I have taken the decision to skip the Olympic qualifiers as I feel nothing was above
self respect”.
According to sources, the forward player Rajpal Singh had some differences with chief coach Joaquim Carvalho. The team returns to India on Feb. 15 before proceeding to Santiago, & Rajpal said he would stay back at home.
Rajpal Singh told sources, “My self-respect is most important for me. Despite my superb performance in the Asia Cup & the recent Test series against Belgium, I am being given the impression that I need to improve my game to excel in major tournaments”. The forward had played a key role in Asia Cup victory with his two goals in final against South Korea last year.
