Mahendra Singh Dhoni captain of Indian ODI 20-20 series said on Thursday that he expected his players to be on their best behaviour for the remainder of the Australian tour. India play agaibst Australia in a Twenty-Twenty match at the MCG today. The relationship b/w the Indians & Australians has been stressed since the argumentative second Test in Sydney and tensions have resurfaced after the three-match suspension of spinner Harbhajan Singh was overturned. Dhoni told DailyNews reporters on Thursday that his players knew the standards they had to meet on the field and was confident they would do so.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni said, “Whoever the players are, they know the international guidelines that are set out to be followed, each and every player should respect it, it is the responsibility of an individual more than their skipper to know the limitations and to know where they stand, we actually don’t care about whatever has happened so far,” Dhoni said. “It’s a fresh start & we are going to play some good cricket. There’s always chit-chat going on b/w the players. If nothing controversial is said, I think both the teams will be happy with it. It’s cricket & you’ve got to do lots of things with the bat & the ball & there should chit-chat out on the ground.” Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said the Indians would not be horrify by a potentially unfriendly reception in the Twenty Twenty clash, embracing the possibility of playing in front of a huge crowd as exciting for his team.
RP Singh and Yuvraj Singh are not playing the match due to injury.
