29th May, 2012: Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, cannot see any cause why Aussie driver Mark Webber would leave this team even if Ferrari wants him. With the win in Monaco GP last weekend, Webber is firmly in the contention to win to this year’s world championship.
Now, Webber is at the third position with 73 points and his teammate Sebastian Vettel is at the second spot with same points. Both of them are just 3 points behind Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso. For a long time, there has been a speculation that Webber would probably leave Red Bull after this season. Currently, he has been linked with Ferrari as a replacement for Felipe Massa and he may be lured to go the team which all drivers dream to go to.
After the Monaco race, Horner spoke about Webber’s fantastic performance. He added that the Aussie driver showed lot of skills and maturity and never put a wheel wrong all through the afternoon. When questioned about the rumors of Webber joining Ferrari, Horner wondered that why would Mark want to leave. Webber is easy in the team. Both Mark and Red Bull team know each other very well. Monaco GP was the 6th race of the season, and a whole lot of things depend on Mark’s motivation and desire to go ahead which at this point of time appears very clear.
