11th April, 2012, Greater Noida: As the tickets for the Formula One 2012 Indian Grand Prix went on sale from Tuesday, the organizers revealed that the cost for the grandstand ticket will be less than last year’s cost, but the cheapest one will be nearly fifty percent more.
Last year, in the inaugural Indian Grand Prix, the price for the grandstand was Rs. 35000 but this year the 3-day event ticket will cost 30000. Last year, the cheapest ticket was Rs. 2500 which now been turned to Rs. 3500.
For Sunday’s main race, the single-day ticket will come at Rs. 20000. The ticket will be inclusive of beverage and food voucher Rs. 3000. The price for the classic and star stand stays at the same at Rs. 6500 and Rs. 8500 respectively.
The total seating capacity at the circuit has come down to 99384, whereas it was more than one lakh. Tickets can be booked at bookmyshow.com.
According to reports, JPSI launched the tickets earlier as people who are coming from outside India will be able to plan their itinerary in advance and in a much better way. Last year, the tickets went on for sale from August.
