29th July, 2013, New Delhi: Formula One Indian Grand Prix 2014 may be dropped from the schedule. According to reports, Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone stated that the problem of hosting the Indian GP in Greater Noida was ‘very political.’
Till now, the Buddh International Circuit has hosted two Formula One races – both won by Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel. It held its first race in 2011. Reports suggest that there are some issues like imposing tax on cars as well as machines that are brought in for the race.
After eleven years, Austria race is all set to be back in next year’s calendar. There is also a possibility that there might be 22 races instead of 20 races. Earlier it was reported that Sochi in Russia will be added in 2014 calendar. However, most teams are reportedly not in favor of not increasing the number of races.
