The exit was like a blink-and-miss affair of Chandlok. He could’nt negotiate a bump in the circuit.

He said, “It was only my fifth lap of the circuit here and I found a bump I didn’t know was there before and it launched me off.”

Sad news further for the country, the race of Bruno Senna, teammate of Chandlok, also ended up. In lap 19 the hydraulic problem showed him exit route.

Earlier, the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first round of the 60th anniversary year of the Formula One World Championship, got off to a smooth start at the Sakhir circuit.

German Michael Schumacher, the seven-time champion, was the centre of attraction on his return after three years in retirement. He returned with Mercedes. The attention was also on the new no-refuelling era.

This was the first time after 1993 that they raced with full fuel.

German Sebastian Vettel had the pole position. He was in his red bull. However, there is almost no indication about who was most likely to succeed on the seaosn’s second longest circuit.
