Dhoni banned for next two matches

CUTTACK, India: MS Dhoni has been banned for next two matches in the India-Sri Lanka one-day series because in the second one-dayer Friday played at Nagpur the team failed to bowl its overs in the scheduled time.

In the match India lost and the five-match series is levelled 1-1.

Due to delay in bowling the match ended 45 minutes late, with India 4 overs behind schedule. As per the rules of ODI cricket, if any team is behind by 3 or more overs then the captain faces a ban and also each of the players are fined.

The players of Team India were fined 40% of their match fees in this match.

Each player is paid 13% of the BCCIs profits at the year end.

MS Dhoni will be missing the third one-dayer of the series in Cuttack on December 21 and also the fourth going to be played in Kolkata on Decem-ber 24.

In his absence Virender Sehwag will the lead the team. Vice-captain Yuvraj Singh is injured.
