Yuvraj named in the 30-member squad for T20 World Cup

18th July, 2012, New Delhi: Cricket World Cup 2011 Man of the Series Yuvraj Singh, who came back from the United States in April after cancer treatment, has been included in the squad of thirty-man probables for the Twenty20 World Cup that is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka later this year. The 30-men squad will be reduced to a 15 – member team later.yuvraj singh picture

32 year old off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who was out if the team for some time because of his poor form, has also been included in the 30-men team. Pace bowler Laxmipathy Balaji, who played for India in the year 2009, is also a part of the team. Other promising young cricketers like wicketkeeper-batsman Naman Ojha, all-rounder Mandeep Singh and Ambati Rayudu has also been added in the team.

Yuvraj, who underwent through chemotherapy in US earlier this year, has already started training and working on his fitness at the NCA (National Cricket Academy) in Bangalore. After returning from US, Yuvi told that he was aiming to the national team at the T20 World Cup.

Krishnamachari Srikkanth, the chief selector, told that a player who won the World Cup for India really deserves to comeback.
