Taunton, September 2 — Tainted trio Pakistani cricket players alleged for spot-fixing is dropped from the England series, said the team manager.

Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt will no further play the rest of the tour against England.

The three will not be replaced for the two T20 matches, but for the rest five ODI’s of the series they will not play.

Team manager, in Taunton, made the statement where the Pak team will play Somerset today.

He said, “The T20 squad will remain what it is here this morning, ie, 13 people… When we play the one-day internationals we will be asking for replacements to make the squad up to 16. The [three] players have not been suspended.”

However, Amir and Asif have been ruled out of today’s match as they are suppose to appear at the Pakistan High Commission in London.

The two will be meeting Pak high commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hasan along with the chairman of the PCB, Ijaz Butt.

The removal of the three will at least bring relief to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and also to the English Cricket Board (ECB) from protests by fans.
