London, September 3 — A report said that spot-fixing scandal’s cash of Lord’s Test last week is understood to have been found in the belongings of Salman Butt, Pak Test captain.

Officers of Scotland Yard Friday would question Butt, Daily Mail reports, over how the marked notes were found from his hotel room and also in his locker at the Lord’s cricket ground.

Daily Mail reports that the marked notes is believed to have been part of 150,000 pounds which were handed over by the undercover reporter of News of the World to the alleged fixer Mazhar Majeed.

The money was handed over to Majeed for fixing three no-balls of the Lord’s Test against England and the notes were secretly marked in order to let it be identified by police later.

The report also said that the notes recovered from Butt’s room and locker are undergoing forensic tests so that the police confirms it that the notes came from News of the World sting.

The newspaper quoted sources saying, “Early indications suggest the money found in possession of Butt originated from the sting. There are good reasons to believe this was the case.”

The revelation came after ICC had provisionally suspended the three tainted players from remaining series.
