Islamabad, August 31 — PCB chairman Ejaz Butt said their players will not be dropped without proof of wrongdoing.

Few Pakistan cricket players have been alleged of fixing matches for money. News Of The World alleges that players were bribed to fix incidents in the fourth Test match against England last week. This has rocked the cricketing world. Probes by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and British police are underway.
Mobile phones of Test captain Salman Butt and bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir have been confiscated by London police. Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal was also interrogated at the hotel.
Ejaz said, “There is a case going on over here with Scotland Yard… This is only an allegation. There is still no charge or proof on that account. So at this stage there will be no action taken.”
The Pak cricket team arrived Monday in Taunton, west England, for the warm-up game for a seven-match ODI series starting Sunday against England.
The anti-corruption unit of ICC is suppose to submit investigation report within next three days.
ICC president Sharad Pawar said to media yesterday that the matter has been discussed with Security Unit Ravi Sawani, Anti-Corruption unit of the council and Ejaz along with his English counterpart Giles Clarke through teleconference.
He said, “We at the ICC are waiting for definite information from the PCB and our own anti-corruption unit. We hope to get something in the next two to three days’ time and that information would lead to appropriate action, if required.”
