19th July, 2012, Colombo: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Indian cricket captain, thinks that the forthcoming series against Sri Lanka will show where the team stands at this point of time and find out the areas where the team needs to improve.
Yesterday, Indian cricket team arrived in Sri Lanka to play five one day international and a single T20 match. “It’s the start of the season for us,” said Dhoni. He added that if the team wants to do well constantly, then there are few areas that the team needs to improve and this is a nice time to test themselves.
The Indian skipper added that the team is not thinking about the T20 World Cup which will also take place in Sri Lanka later this year.
“What’s important is to be in the present, which means take this series into account, not to think too much ahead about the World Twenty20,” added Dhoni. The good thing is that most players who are a part of this team will also be in the T20 World Cup Side.
Just after checking in to the hotel, the team went for a training session. “The good thing is the energy level is up, which means we can put in a bit more effort in the physical department and do a bit more active sports work.” said the Indian skipper.
